Improved over the original 1600 model, the MedReady 1700 Medication Dispenser provides advanced medication management to help patients practice regular medication compliance. Cgivers can easily fill the dispenser, set dosage times, and program the appropriate alarms, giving the user a new degree of independence. All MedReady models now come standard with a low frequency audible alarm. This buzzing alarm sounds when it's time for the patient to take medication. When the door on the dispenser is opened, the alarm stops sounding/flashing. Only the most recent medication dose is available. The pill tray rotates to the next dose when the next audible alarm sounds. If a patient misses a dose, the dispenser denies access to the missed dose. If the alarm is not interrupted after 30 minutes (factory setting), MedReady automatically sends an alert to the cgiver via text message, email, and phone calls. Alerts also sent when the medication tray fails to rotate or when power has been out for 24 hours. The dispenser comes with a removeable tray that holds 28 doses of dry medication. Each of the 28 compartments is ramped for easy removal of medication, and can hold up to nine pills. The dispenser also has a card holder in the bottom for a printed copy of the patient's prescriptions. Divisions between compartments keep medications in place even if the dispenser is turned upside down. The dispenser is protected by a lock, so that no one can tamper with doses. Setting alarms for dosage times is as simple as setting a digital alarm clock. The large, illuminated LED display can be viewed from any angle. MedReady uses AC power, but in the event of a power outage, it switches automatically to the included rechargeable battery.
